When Late Narendra Mehta (MBE) first arrived in England, he quickly became aware that Indian Head massage, a therapy that was a part of everyday life in India, was unheard of in the UK. Having been blind since the age of one, Narendra had a particularly heightened sense of just how beneficial Indian Head Massage can be. He set to work pioneering a technique that encompassed everything he had learnt over the years, both in his home and in different locations around India.
His expertise and the fast growing popularity of the technique resulted in opening the London Centre of Indian Champissage (LCIC) in London, along with his wife, Kundan Mehta originator and the author of The Face Lift Massage. From the moment the doors of the North London based centre opened, word began to spread about Indian Champissage head massage. His book about the technique Indian Head Massage (1999), has been translated into multiple languages and tutors from six different continents have travelled to London to train at the centre. It wasn’t long before Narendra and Kundan pioneered another technique, Face Lift Massage. This technique incorporated all of the knowledge that Kundan had acquired over her years of dedicated bodywork experience.
Since the passing of Narendra his dear wife Kundan and their Godson Moses Chundi are continuing the great legacy of London Centre of Indian Champissage and as ever ready to move and develop with the times, the LCIC have expanded their repertoire and created many other Ayurvedic Therapies. All of the unique ayurvedic training practices developed and taught by the centre have been done so in collaboration with some of Southern India’s esteemed doctors. What do I need to do to become a tutor?
In order to train to become an Ayurvedic therapist you will need to meet the following requirements:
Be passionate about holistic therapies.
Be driven to become the best therapist you can be all in the name of helping people and passing on the benefits of the therapies.
You must have qualified as a therapist with The College of Ayurvedic Therapies and have been practicing for a minimum of one year.
You must complete a business plan which demonstrates that there is a need for a tutor in the city or country that you would like to teach in.
What does the course involve?
The training will be given over the course of five days.
As the college has tutors in most countries, in some instances, you may be able to complete your tutor-training course close to home.
If not, you will have to attend the London Center or be a host for the training in your city.
As part of the course, you will assist your tutor in teaching new students as a trainee tutor.
This on-the-job training will provide you with fantastic experience of what training new pupils will really be like.
There will also be one-on-one sessions with your tutor.
Fee to become a Tutor:
Single therapy £2500 (5 Days)
Any two therapies £4000 (7 days)
Any further course added would be just £1500 per addtional course.
What happens after qualifying as a tutor?
You will then be entering into the Contract with LCIC and will be listed on the website as accredited tutors.

Please note: You will need to be able to speak English in order to be able to act as a trainee tutor for new pupils in the UK. In some instances in different countries (locations) it is possible as long as someone is present to translate.
